(SPEEDWAY 1)MILDENHALL clinched the National League Knockout Cup with an impressive away win at Stoke. The Fen Tigers carried an eight point lead into the second leg of the Final before taking a 52-40 victory at Loomer Road, and will parade the trophy at West Row on Sunday.Co-promoter Michael Lee said: "I'm almost lost for words. The boys rode their hearts out tonight and got the reward they deserved. To think back in March when we took this on we just wanted to re-establish Mildenhall Speedway, and now we have won the Knockout Cup. "I feel incredibly proud and thrilled for everyone at the club and our magnificent supporters, who have worked so hard and backed us so well."(SPEEDWAY 2)STOKE boss Malcolm Vasey admitted his side lost top form at the crucial time of the season. The Potters were flying high for much of the campaign but missed out to Mildenhall in the final stages of both major competitions in the National League with No.1 Simon Lambert ending the year on the injury list.Vasey said: "It's been a great season up until the last three or four weeks when we have since fallen away through a mixture of injuries and engine problems."No-one can take away from us that we have finished top of the National League table, and although we have been beaten in the play offs and the cup we have not disgraced ourselves this season. Tonight is a very bitter pill to swallow as I know we are capable of so much better."
