44 Cars Entered In The Decisive GT Open Final Round In Barcelona

A total of 44 cars have been entered to the last and decisive round of the International GT Open, to take place, as tradition wants, at the Circuit de Catalunya this coming week-end. The entry list has been published today by GT Sport.

There is great expectation ahead of this final round, which will be decisive for both theoverall, SuperGT and GTS classes of the GT Open, as well as for the Spanish GT Championship/ IBER GT that will race jointly. The main duels will be between Montermini-Moncini (Villorba)and Ayari (JMB), both on Ferraris 458, who are separated by only 1 point in the overallstandings, and between Bontempelli-Gattuso (Ferrari Kessel) and Roda (Porsche Aurolando),also separated by only 1 point, for the GTS crown.

All regular GT Open competitors will be present, with only one notable change in the lineups,as Marco Frezza is replaced by Alessandro Pier-Guidi (a vice-champion of the GT Open in2006) alongside Cochito López on the Vittoria Ferrari. Among cars entered specially for thisevent, two additional Ferraris 458 GT3 by AF Corse (for Lanting-Haane and Cioci-Geri), theAttempto Racing Porsche 911R that is a regular contender in this event, and a LamborghiniGallardo LP600 GT3 entered by GoodSense Racing team for Eugenio Amos and GT stalwartPeter Kox, who is making his debut in the series. On another side, the Sunred SRX will beracing for the Spanish GT, with its regular pair in that series, Monje-Castelló.

To be watched among Spanish GT competitors, the Drivex Porsche of Gião-De Castro and theAurora Ferrari F430 of Míguez-Godinho, who are fighting for the championship, but also theRSV Ferrari F430 of Lavio-Sicart and the EdilCris F430 of J.Ramos-Silva, while the NovadriverAudi R8 GT3 of Camapniço-Figuereido will star in GTS. Obviously, GT Open and Spanish GTcompetitors will only score points for their respective championship, without scoring orblocking points in the other series.

Fans in Barcelona will have the opportunity to enjoy a full and rich race programme, whichincludes the European F3 Open, the FIA Formula Two, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and theF.Abarth European Series Selenia.
