SUPERSTARS launches Rookie of the Year 2012

WINNING DRIVER GETS 2013 AUTOGP RIDE

SUPERSTARS is offering a new, unique opportunity to young drivers with the launch of the brand-new ROOKIE OF THE YEAR title. The winning driver will be offered a fully-funded ride in the European season of the 2013 AutoGP championship.

The 2012 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR is a brand-new contest dedicated to 8, Under 24 rookie racers making their way in the FG GROUP-supported championship next season.

In the last few years, SUPERSTARS has definitely emerged as a formative series with a great international media coverage. A perfect stepping stone for young racers aiming at battling in a challenging environment and at the same time eyeing a open-wheel ride in one of the top-running championships in racing. The ROOKIE OF THE YEAR winner will be entering the European season of AutoGP and have the chance to follow in the footsteps of Kevin Ceccon, who won the open-wheel championship's Rookie Of The Year title before being offered a chance to test drive a Formula 1 car.

In 2011, the best rookie of SUPERSTARS has been Alberto Cerqui. The 19-year-old enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough in the series by winning the overall Italian Championship. Successfully fielded by Team BMW Italia aboard a manufacturer-supported BMW M3, he will now have the chance to sample an AutoGP openwheeler too, with a test session set for November the 3rd.

Entries in the 2012 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR challenge will be granted to the first 8 drivers signing-up before the next 15th of December. In addition to the outstanding prize drive set for the winner, all the other challengers will be offered an AutoGP test. The ROOKIE OF THE YEAR contest will be promoted through a sensational dedicated campaign involving international television, partnerships with specialized media outlets and specific promotion on new media and social networks.
