Six different countries are on the calendar for Masters Historic Racing in 2012 as the UK-based historic race promoter has launched its best-ever calendar. There will be 10 events in 2012 and eight of the circuits are Formula 1 venues, past or present.Masters will be in charge of the on-track element of the popular Catalan Festival at Barcelona (April 20-22), which earned many plaudits in its first season in 2011 before a return to Dijon-Prenois in France for the Grand Prix de l’age d’Or in June (23-25). In addition, Masters will have grids at the Silverstone Classic in July (20-22), the popular Oldtimer GP at the Nurburgring in August (11-13) and two events in September. The first is the new Historic Grand Prix at Zandvoort (September 1/2) and the second is the traditional September’s Spa Six Hours (21-23).Masters will run four UK events in 2012 at Oulton Park, Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Donington. The Donington and Brands Hatch event will run to the Masters two-day Festival programmes on the respective Grand Prix circuits, while Oulton Park and Snetterton will boast one-day events aimed at national-level racers.Masters Historic Racing Event Manager Rachel Bailey said: “This is an excellent calendar and we are looking forward to a superb season of racing.
