1199 Panigale and updated Ducati range at Motorcycle Live

Ducati will attend this year’s Motorcycle Live at the NEC with the unveiling of a new model that is sure to steal the show. In 2009, the Multistrada stunned visitors with its technology and innovation, in 2010 the Diavel wowed the crowds by redefining and reinventing the cruiser class and now this year Motorcycle Live will play host to the new 1199 Panigale spearheading the most impressive model range in Ducati’s history.

Although the 1199 Panigale will no doubt dominate the headlines, the Ducati stand, more than ever, has something for everyone. The Diavel, MCN’s machine of the year, has an undoubted presence and those drawn to this award winning and acclaimed bike will be able to see for the first time the Diavel Cromo and the special edition Diavel AMG. The Multistrada, now firmly established in the market place, will show off its latest family member - the Pikes Peak Special Edition in celebration of its recent successes at this famous hill climb in Colorado. The Multistrada 1200S Touring is also now available in a new Titanium colour for 2012.

The Streetfighter range sees the introduction of the new 848 model with new 848 Testastretta 11° engine providing user-friendliness with a smooth and flexible power delivery. The Streetfighter 848 also has enhanced geometry for the chassis that provides confidence-inspiring agility, revised ergonomics and Ducati Traction Control.

The Hypermotard range remains largely unchanged other than the addition of the new 1100 EVO SP Corse Edition with full red, white and black Ducati Corse official colours. The iconic Monster range has some minor changes and all models will be on display on the Ducati stand.

The 1199 Panigale is not the only addition to the Superbike range. 2012 sees the arrival of the stunning 848EVO Corse Special Edition with Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Quick Shift, Öhlins rear suspension and 330mm brake discs all stylishly delivered in Ducati Corse official colours.

Lastly we come to the 1199 Panigale which has so many innovative features that visitors to the stand could spend many hours just discovering the detail of the most advanced Superbike ever seen at Motorcycle Live.

The completely new Superquadro engine, so called because of its massively over-square bore and stroke ratio, has increased power to an absolute production twin-cylinder milestone of astonishing 195hp and torque to 98.1 lb-ft (13.5kgm). To deliver the target weight saving, the engine now becomes an integral part of an innovative monocoque chassis and combines to deliver its 195hp from 164kg creating the highest production motorcycle power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios in the world. With the click of a button the Ducati’s Riding Modes deliver performance with enhanced rider confidence by combining seven class-leading technologies. The latest-generation sports ABS system, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES), Ducati Quick-Shift (DQS), Ducati’s new race-derived Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ride-by-Wire (RbW) are now all programmed into seamless, electronic rider assistance. Even the world’s most advanced LCD dashboard with the full colour Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display changes to suit the rider’s environment.

To see this incredible machine as well as the full 2012 model range and the latest selection of Ducati Apparel at the Official Clothing Store visit the Ducati stand, G310 in Hall 4.
