SUPERSTARS set for 2011 Bologna Motor Show challenge

The exclusive and international environment of the 2011 Motor Show at Bologna is set to become all about SUPERSTARS during its first weekend of opening. After an one-year break due to the last round in Kyalami being too close, the 500+ horsepower racecars of the FG Group-promoted series will be back on the "Area 48" circuit.

The SUPERSTARS race is set for Sunday, December the 4th, when the sensational crowd of Motor Show will be offered the same delight enjoyed on-track by thousands of fans this season. In what is expected to be a grand finale, top cars and drivers will battle for the overall win.

Maserati will be the first team to beat with 2011 Champion, pending appeal, Andrea Bertolini. The experienced Modena-based racer, who cruised to seven wins this season, will cross swords with Thomas Biagi, who'll be lined-up on a works supported BMW M3. Biagi, who just lost the SUPERSTARS crown he won in 2010, is set to fight back at home in Bologna, as well as his team-mate Stefano Gabellini.

Two Mercedes C63 AMG will be lined-up by Team Romeo Ferraris. Behind the wheel will be fresh Italian Series runner-up Max Pigoli and Monza winner Michela Cerruti, eager to cap a successful season with more good results, while one of the Stuttgart manufacturer's cars will be fielded by Roma Racing Team for driver/owner Nico Caldarola. His top rally experience will definitely be of help on the tight and twisty BolognaFiere circuit.

Ivan Tramontozzi will be back to SUPERSTARS racing aboard another BMW entry fielded by Movisport. Another valuable addition, also in terms of number of brands represented, will be the Ferlito-prepared Jaguar XF in the hands of fast Gian Maria Gabbiani. The Milan-based racer, son of Formula 1 legend Beppe Gabbiani, has been pairing his car racing career with a successful stint in offshore powerboat competition.

AWARDS CEREMONY SET FOR DECEMBER 4 The 2011 Motor Show will also be hosting the SUPERSTARS SERIES and INTERNATIONAL GTSPRINT SERIES awards ceremony. The events are scheduled for December the 4th at Pavilion 26, starting from 2:15 PM.
