Yoshimura Suzuki Racing prepares for the 2012 AMA - FIM Supercross season

Yoshimura Suzuki Racing is ready for the 2012 AMA/ FIM Supercross season that kicks-off next month.

Heading into the first Supercross race of the season at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California on January 7th, Brett Metcalfe is looking to put his Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 on the podium.

Said Metcalfe: "I'm really excited about Anaheim 1. Last season, I had a tough time and I made some mistakes that took me out of the Supercross Championship, but I learned a lot. We really hit some points in the off-season testing and, right now, I think I'm riding the best Supercross I ever have. I'm excited about that and I can't wait until January 7th comes around and we get to go racing. I think we'll be well-prepared and hungry to get out there. I'm just looking forward to going for those race-wins and putting the Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 up front."

Last year, Metcalfe made his debut in the Supercross class at the season-opening Anaheim race and enjoyed a solid performance. The Australian finished third in his heat race and got a good start in the Main Event before finishing up an impressive eighth. He captured another top-10 finish at the second Anaheim event after putting in a consistent and aggressive ride. Although injuries shortened his 2011 Supercross season, Metcalfe showed his ability during the Motocross season, scoring an overall win, as well as two podiums and three top-five finishes, finishing the season fourth overall.

"We're really looking forward to the upcoming 2012 season and we're excited about Anaheim 1," said Yoshimura Suzuki Team Manager Mike Webb. "We are extremely happy to have Brett as part of our team and are looking for great things from him. Metty has shown he has the stuff to win and is a great ambassador for the sport and a quality-representative for Yoshimura and Suzuki."
