The ACO speeds up its development in Asia

Rémy Brouard, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest General Manager, has been entrusted with a new mission linked to the development of the ACO’s activities in Asia.

Jean-Claude Plassart, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, and the ACO Steering Committee have entrusted Rémy Brouard, the ACO General Manager since 2008, with a new strategic mission. In order to devote himself fully to this task Brouard has asked to be relieved of his general management duties.

Since 3rd January 2012 he is responsible for the development of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest on an international basis, especially in the Asian zone.

Rémy Brouard has in-depth knowledge of the Asian markets and was the promoter of the events organized by the ACO in Okayama (Japan) in 2009, followed by those in Zhuhai (China) in 2010 and 2011. He is going to coordinate and implement the ACO’s unique know-how on a continent, which is the biggest car market in the world: this will include the launch of the Asian Le Mans Series, construction of new circuits, setting up of driving schools plus mobility development with driver training courses. He is taking on a huge job to open a new chapter in the history of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest in Asia.

While awaiting the nomination of a new general manager in the near future, Jean-Claude Plassart will work in close collaboration with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest management.

Jean-Claude Plassart, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest:“The ACO, which is already firmly implanted in the United States and Europe, has decided to create a third hub on a continent that is undergoing rapid expansion. This is why we’ve asked Rémy Brouard to take on this mission that is decisive for the future, and the development of our club.”
