AP Kawasaki Set To Challenge For Superstock Titles‏

AP Kawasaki is aiming for double success in the 2012 Metzeler National Superstock Championships with a formidable line up in both the 600cc and 1000cc classes.

Following on from last season's success, the Lincoln-based squad will field Freddie Russo and Patrick Medcalf in the Superstock 1000cc class where they will be joined by Josh Wainwright in the Superstock 600cc at each of the 12 rounds which support the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.

22-year-old Russo from Brentford makes the step up to the Superstock 1000cc class after securing eighth in the Superstock 600 Championship last year with a victory at Cadwell Park being the highlight. Joining him will be 23-year-old Australian sensation Medcalf from Wadalba, NSW who has two Australian Superstock titles under his belt and made his UK debut for the team at Brands Hatch last August with an impressive ride into the points.

The pair will be racing the Kawasaki ZX-10R for Alan Greig and Paul Russo's team whereas 21-year-old Londoner Wainwright rejoins the team he has enjoyed success with in the past aboard the established ZX-6R which proved so competitive in last year's series.

Alan Greig, Team Manager: "We are really excited about the forthcoming season and feel we have a very strong line up in both classes. We are delighted to welcome Josh back into the 600cc team and are sure that both Freddie and Patrick will give a very good account of themselves in the 1000cc class. We are proud to introduce a number of new sponsors to the team, including Dickies Workwear, Be-Wiser Insurance and Britool Expert so hopefully we'll have lots to celebrate this season."

The opening round of both the Metzeler National Superstock 600cc and 1000cc Championships takes place at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday (9th April) and for further information, please visit
