Portimão replaces the AutoGP Estoril round

Change of plans for the Auto GP World Series: the fifth round of the Series has been moved from Estoril to Portimão, without any change concerning the date of the event, that remains scheduled for the 2-3 June weekend. The decision, that involves the whole WTCC package, is supported by logistical reasons and has already been approved by the FIA World Council.

This means that Auto GP World Series will switch from a track with great tradition like Estoril to a brand new circuit like the Autodromo do Algarve, that in just a few years managed to become one of the drivers’ favourites thanks to its challenging layout, with some really fast and blind corners.

Since 2008, when the track was completed, it hosted high profile events like the World Superbike Championship, A1GP, GP2 and Le Mans Series, a list that soon will include Auto GP World Series. Below, the amended calendar:

9-11 March Monza (I) 31 March-1 April Valencia (E) 14-15 April Marrakech (MA) 5-6 May Budapest (H) 2-3 June Portimão (P) 21-22 July Curitiba (BR) 22-23 September Sonoma (USA)
