There will be a significant change in the tyre supply arrangements for the Kololi Beach Club MSA British Historic Rally Championship in 2013 when competitors will be able to use tyres from a number of suppliers.The BHRC management committee is currently in advanced negotiations with a number of tyre suppliers and expects to confirm the 2013 tyre partners within the next few weeks. The move comes after a four-year exclusive period with Dunlop and follows extensive consultation with competitors. Dunlop is expected to continue to be a significant tyre supplier for the championship in 2013 and there are no changes to Dunlop’s exclusive arrangements for the balance of the 2012 season.“We have listened to our competitors and believe that opening up the tyre supply is the right move for the championship at this time,” said championship manager Simon Marks. “I would like to record our sincere gratitude to Dunlop and the team at Mr Tyre for the superb support they have given to the BHRC over the last four seasons and I look forward to Dunlop continuing to be an important partner for the championship in 2013.”More details, including the identity of the confirmed tyre suppliers for 2013 will be announced as soon as possible.
