International Superstars testing

SCUDERIA GIUDICI, BMW DINAMIC, W&D, SOLARIS, MRT AND CAAL RACING HIT THE TRACK FOR TESTING

With just more than a week to go before the 2012 season at the historical Monza racetrack, many teams and drivers of the INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS SERIES were back on-track for testing around Italy.

The new Team BMW Dinamic lined-up with their BMW M3 racecars and their leading duo at Adria: Thomas Biagi, who is looking forward to repeat his double 2010 title, and Stefano Gabellini, who cruised to the 2005 INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS SERIES title, enjoyed a positive day in Veneto. The team's third machine will be in the hands of Sandro Bettini, who is returning aboard a BMW after his 2011 run. Scuderia Giudici also fielded two BMW cars with Riccardo Bossi and Andrea Perlini behind the wheel. Both of them proved satisfied with the test's outcome.

W&D Racing lined-up at Imola, home of round 2 of the 2012 SUPERSTARS season. The San Marino-based squad will make its debut at Monza with two BMW M3 racecars for Walter and Paolo Meloni.

Solaris Motorsport was back on-track at Franciacorta, near Brescia. The Swiss team, led by Cristian Grasso, continued in the development of their American-powered Chevrolet Lumina CR8 racers. The two cars were driven by Francesco Sini and Gian Maria Gabbiani. They were joined on the same day by the MRT team, with a revamped version of their Lexus IS F racecar and Luca Cappellari driving. They will be aiming at a more stable performance this season compared to 2011.

In the meantime, Max Mugelli had his first taste of the CAAL Racing-prepared Mercedes C63 AMG. The Tuscany-based driver, moving over from GTSPRINT this season, hit the track at Magione aboard the 500+ horsepower Stuttgart sportscar.
