Geddie ready for Supercup test

Glynn Geddie is ready for the biggest test yet after confirming he'll compete in three rounds of the prestigious Porsche Supercup.

The Aberdonian returns to the Porsche Carrera Cup during his main 2012 challenge which starts at Brands Hatch this weekend,

However, he'll also be involved in support races ahead of the Formula One events at Monaco, Silverstone, and Spa.

The 21-year-old, who is labeling this year as the most important of his fledging career, can't wait to take his career to next level on the Supercup circuit.

"There's little doubt being in and around different teams and drivers at Supercup level can only help to further my development," he said.

"I was fortunate enough to take part in the Porsche Supercup before at Monaco back in 2009 which was something I thoroughly enjoyed.

"I was just 18 back then and eventually took the car home in 15th position.

"Being out there was a huge learning experience but I've matured as a driver in recent seasons and I'm determined to do myself justice in the Supercup this year."Geddie will be running with Redline racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup and he's fully aware he's under pressure to grab outright glory.

The Apex Tubulars backed ace is going back to the future in the Porsche Carrera Cup this season having previously competed in the event three times before.

Geddie won the Pro-Am 1 and Pro-Am 2 crowns in 2008 and 2009 before finishing fourth in the professional sector in 2010.

During his year away from the Porsche circuit he won the British GT championship last season in a Ferrari 458 alongside his dad Jim.

Despite being excited by the glamour of the Supercup challenge that lies ahead Geddie insists he won't take his eyes off the main prize in the Carrera Cup.

He added: "There's no doubt this is a pivotal season in the development of my overall career.

"As rewarding as the Supercup will be for me I'm fully focused on going all out to win the Porsche Carrera Cup so it's vital I get off to a positive start at Brands Hatch this weekend."
