Round 1: Oulton Park, 31 March

Reigning champion Paul Platt made the best possible start to his title defence with two nail-biting wins at Oulton Park.

Platt spent the opening laps of race one back in fifth place while Ben Davis led from pole-sitter Jason Dredge. Platt slowly picked off the drivers ahead until passing Davis for lead and then hanging on for victory. Davis’s older brother Toby secured the final podium spot when Dredge retired with a broken clutch.

Ben Davis led the way in race two until being passed once again by Platt, who proceeded to dominate. Ben gave chase but soon retired with a broken piston, elevating Toby into second place, which became third when he was passed by Louis Wall on the last lap.
