Rounds 1 & 2: Kimbolton April 7-8.
Enaam Ahmed and Dean Macdonald grabbed a win each in the opening meeting of the MSA British Cadet Championship, but it was Josh Smith who left Kimbolton with a slender points advantage on his rivals.
Ahmed capped an excellent Saturday performance by keeping double Hunts Kart Club Champion Lewis Taylor at bay by one hundredth of a second, with Smith coming through the field after a collision had left him in 20th place.
Macdonald had led the first round before being mistakenly shown a black flag, but he recovered from the disappointment to take a great win in Sunday’s round two. Having tracked Smith for the majority of the 15-lap final the pint-sized Scot was able to dive up the inside going into Kimbolton corner and snatch the win by two hundredths of a second.
