Grand Prix Automobile of Pau - Pau Puts on its show!

In 2011, Pau revived its Grand Prix, first Grand Prix ever, stating its ambition of taking back its place in the automobile world as “not to be missed” meeting for the Formula races which made so many champions...

Now an essential cultural and sporting event, the oldest street race gathers shop keepers, residents, elected representatives, participants and public. After a conclusive experience in 2011, the organisation of the two Grand Prix de Pau, modern and historic, has once again been entrusted by the city and the ASAC Basco-Béarnais, to Peter Auto.

The Grand Prix de Pau and the Grand Prix de Pau Historique will be back in May 2012 for the pleasure of all. The Grand Prix de Pau and the Grand Prix de Pau Historique are now on the Bearn capital’s yearly calendar. Framed by two racing weekends, (5/6 for historic racing and 11/12/13 for the modern races) the town will become an automotive city complete with activities and shows.

The Grand Prix de Pau Historique, as in 2011, will remain mainly focused on the single-seater races which made the fame of the circuit in the city. GT, two-seater sports cars & Touring will have a place of honour with the return of the Phil Hill and Mini Classic Trophies and the arrival in 2012 of a Flat 4 Porsche grid.

After the 2011 success, competitors, Clubs and exhibitors will once again participate in this classic car celebration: on the programme, no less than 6 grids gathering mythical models and the Clubs will once again set up their headquarters in the Parc Beaumont with over 700 cars of all times!

The Grand Prix de Pau will take place on the following week-end, the new edition will gather the big classics of the meeting such as the awaited F3 race, the French F4 FFSA Championship, a couple of manufacturers', such as Renault & Peugeot, monotype racing cars.

The latter will come with the Peugeot RCZ Racing Cup. They will be joined by two others grids: Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup & Mitjet Series.

The 2nd Electric Grand Prix Electrique will also be back with the Andros Cars!
