Round 1: Pikes Peak, 14-15 April

Former champion Richard Kershaw took a comfortable win ahead of reigning title holder Ian Rochelle in the opening round at Pikes Peak.

Kershaw set the pace from the outset, with his charge to victory stemmed only by a broken drive shaft on the fourth run, which cost some time. Meanwhile Rochelle’s victory hopes were wrecked when his car suffered mechanical problems on the final run of day one.

"It’s been a good weekend and a good course," said Kershaw. "Other than the shaft problem we had a clear run, we kept it tidy and didn’t pick up any punctures."
