The Ferrari Challenge returns to Imola

This coming weekend, the Enzo e Dino Ferrari Imola International Circuit will host the second round of the European series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli for the first time in two years.Going into the event which will see over forty Ferrari 458 Challenge cars on track, Bjorn Grossmann, driving for Ferrari Moscow, has a solid lead in the Trofeo Pirelli on 43 points, while among the Coppa Shell runners, the lead is shared by Alexey Basov (Ferrari Moscow) and Raffaele Giannoni (Motor/Piacenza) on 34.The Ferrari Moscow concessionaire also controls the Coppa Giovani, as Alexander Skryabin picked up 18 points at the Monza event, while in the Coppa Gentleman, Fons Scheltema leads on 16 points in the Kessel Racing car, followed by the Ineco/MP crew of Erich Prinoth and Vincenzo Sauto, who are four points down. The action starts on Saturday 21 April with free practice and qualifying, with Sunday being given over entirely to racing with two races scheduled as well as the second round of the International GT Sprint Series, a championship that features several Ferrari F430 and 458 Italia cars on the entry list.The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe races will be shown live in Italy on Sky Sport, with repeats  throughout the week, while broadcasters in 60 other countries will also be showing the action.
