GT Sprint, A double winning weekend for Black Team Ferrari

Victory for the Ferrari 458 GT2 driven by Andrea Palma, who after great results at the opening round in Monza, won both the International GT Sprint races held this weekend at Imola on the same card as the European Ferrari Challenge.

The Roman Black Team driver dominated in Race 1after team-mate and poleman Raffaele Giammaria had to park his F430 GTC on the sighting lap with a mechanical failure. There was also a great second place and a first in the GTS3 class for the Ferrari 458 of Mario Cordoni, who thus celebrated his debut with the Ombra Racing team in this series. On the lowest step of the podium was Lorenzo Bontempelli (Kessel Racing.)

Last year he distinguished himself at the wheel of the Swiss team’s car, both in the Ferrari one make series and the International GT Open. Race 2 once again saw Palma dominate, leading from start to finish, with Bontempelli taking his F430 GTC to second spot for Kessel Racing. Fourth at the chequered flag is Mario Cordoni for the Ombra Racing Team in the Ferrari 458 Italia which also saw him take the top spot in GTS3.

The next round of the International GT Sprint Series takes place over the weekend of 3 June at Mugello, again alongside the European series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, there for Round 3.
