MSA British Sporting Trials Championship

Roland Uglow won a wet and challenging Derbyshire trial for the first time after dropping 13 points less than his nearest challenger.

Tom Bricknell led until driving into a hidden tree stump that bent his front axle, leaving him second. Duncan Stephens finished third for the third time this year, and after struggling with ignition problems Ian Bell finished fourth ahead of Julian Fack, who blew his head gasket right at the end of the trial.

Robin Jager used his 51 years of trialling experience to finish as the top live axle and top non-gas powered car in seventh overall. Mike Readings won the intermediate class on a tie break from George Watson, while Mark Dayson won the novice class by a single point from Richard Thomas.
