Facu Regalia makes his debut in the European F3 Open

After three meetings driving Campos Racing´s Auto GP car, the Argentine driver starts his second championship of 2012: European F3 Open at the Autódromo do Algarve .

Facu Regalia will debut next weekend in the European F3 Open championship, and as in Auto GP he is driving for Campos Racing. Regalia faces the most competitive F3 championship with more than twenty-five cars on the starting grid.

The young argentine driver, who in 2011 clinched podium finishes and pole positions during his season in Italian Formula 3 championship, is going to drive a new Dallara F312 at Autódromo do Algarve, a track where never raced before.

“I am looking forward to make my debut in this championship. I will drive a Campos Racing´s car once again and after my first podium in Valencia with Auto GP, I think top-places are a realistic aim here”, Regalia explained. He added that “this venue was absolutely unknown for me until last week when my team and I tested there. I like it because it´s a true challenge for every driver. I think our car is going to be good, because we worked on set-up last week”.

After a troublesome meeting in Morocco with Auto GP, Regalia said that “that meeting is forgotten. I learnt some lessons there, and in my opinion my experience at the wheel of Lola B05/52 Zytek will be a key factor to be fast with new Dallara F312. I think everything is all set to start European F3 Open in a positive way. Of course a good start in Portugal would help us to boost our confidence”.

The schedule for this weekend begins on Thursday with private sessions, and on Friday there will be three free practice sessions. Qualifying session is scheduled on Saturday morning and race one – 16 laps- the same day in the afternoon. Finally race two will be on Sunday, and again 16 laps long. Both races will be broadcasted live on f3open.tv.
