TYCO Suzuki Ready for BSB Triple Header

Team Suzuki Press Office - May 3.

Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes and Alastair Seeley will start this weekend's 'triple-header' opening race at the third-round British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire from the front row of the grid.

The first race of the Bank Holiday weekend's event will be the re-run cancelled second race from the opening round at Brands Hatch and will take place on Sunday over 16 laps on Sunday. Seeley will start from Pole Position and Brookes from third.

Ulsterman Seeley, who posted a second-placed podium in race one at Brands, is itching to get back to the sharp end this weekend after a less-than satisfactory showing at Thruxton.

Australian Brookes has been in the thick of the action from the word go this season and after setting the pole time at Brands Indy, taking a double podium and a memorable victory at Thruxton, he is aiming for a hat-trick of podiums this weekend on his GSX-R1000 Superbike.

Josh Brookes:

"It seems like a long time since Thruxton with the two week break. We've had a decent start to the year and it's always less stressful having to wait between rounds after a win. It also makes life easier for everyone in the team, but we're all looking forward to Oulton this weekend.

"The new GSX-R1000 worked really well for me at Thruxton and that makes the job a whole lot more enjoyable. I'm now looking forward to the three races this weekend. As much as we are there to score heavily in the points, I'd love to win all three races as only Kiyo and Camier have done it in the past. We'll have to wait and see."

Alastair Seeley:

"I'm looking forward to using this weekend to bounce back after what was a disaster for me at Thruxton. We've tested since then at Kirkistown and discovered a few areas that I can change, starting with my position on the Superbike. I've been watching DVDs and preparing myself for the three races at Oulton. A lot of points are up for grabs and if we can come out of Oulton in a positive frame of mind, it will steer me in the right direction heading to the North West 200."

Philip Neill - Team Manager:

"After getting ready for the start of the season and back-to-back races at Brands and Thruxton, two weeks seems like a sizeable break for us. In saying that it has been an ideal time to re-group and catch up on some other work, especially preparation for the NW200.

"However, the boys on the BSB side of the workshop have continued to work hard on the development of the new GSX-R1000 prior to Oulton for both Josh and Alastair. We haven't made any major changes, apart from a few tweaks here and there that will hopefully keep us running at the front.

"Oulton has been good to us over the years as a team, but it would be nice to take Alastair and Josh to their first Superbike wins at the circuit. As the boys know themselves, there are a lot of points up for grabs, so consistency is the key and if we can keep our run of podiums going, that will be just the job."
