Petrol pole for Jani at Spa

Neel Jani achieved the fifth fastest time in the qualifying session for the 6 Hours of Spa and in so doing placed the B12/60 Lola-Rebellion # 12 as the first of the petrol prototypes and first FIA WEC privateer entrant. With a lap time of 2'04''234, the swiss driver powered his Lola B12/60 up just behind the four Audi diesel cars.

Andrea Belicchi with the #13 B12/60 Lola-Toyota set the third fastest time of the petrol field with a time of 2'05''078, after being impeded by the trafic during his three fast laps.

Both cars topped the petrol and FIA WEC Privateer field during all practice sessions since the begining of the weekend, the team is targeting an equally strong result in tomorrow’s race.

Neel Jani – Lola-Toyota #12 :« We achieved our goal of today, qualifying the new B12/60 Lola-Toyota as the first petrol powered car and first FIA WEC privateer team, P5 overall just behind the four factory Audis. This result is really the work of all the team. Since yesterday, I haven't driven a lot. My teammates have done a great job yesterday and this morning, making the right choices in terms of set-up. When I have taken the wheel this morning for some laps during the free practice 3, I  knew that we had a very good car. We are now waiting for the race ».

Andrea Belicchi – Lola-Toyota #13 : « I have been blocked by a lot of traffic during my three fast laps. So I'm a bit disappointed not to be just behind Neel. Nevertheless, the car I drove during the qualifying is really better than usual. That shows that we are on the good way for tomorrow !
