Pole, podium and a win for Riccardo Agostini in Italian F3

IMPORTANT POINTS AND A PERFECT WEEKEND FOR THE DRIVER FROM PADUA AT THE ITALIAN F.3 EUROPEAN SERIES ON THE HUNGARORING TRACK

Riccardo Agostini hit the target on the Hungaroring track. The JD Motorsport’s driver based in Padua dominated the second round of the Italian F.3 European Series the last weekend.

Starting from the pole he obtained in the qualifying on Friday, when he scored in Q2 - valid for the starting grid of the second race of Saturday - the best time with 1.38”133, response that no one has managed to improve. Agostini also recorded the second best time in Q1, only 0”026 from Eddie Cheever. Then, in Race 1, the young Italian took the second place. After his first pole of the season on his debut in F.3, Agostini has done so well to achieve his first podium.

A growing performance completed by the victory in Race 2 on Saturday afternoon, when he leaded the race with his Mygale from the first lap to the end, bringing to the old glory the single-seated of Magny-Cours factory in a ACI-CSAI series and recording the fastest lap. Agostini gained very important points for the ranking in the championship that have been added those that was able to make in also Race 3 on Sunday morning: starting from the third row, because of the rule that reverse on the grid the first six drivers of Race 1, Agostini - who has only recently turned 18 - has been involved, not for his fault, in a couple of contacts that have seen him going back to the eighth position. But at the end he has been still the best driver of the weekend.

Leader of the “rookies”, Agostini has now gone up third in the overall championship. Now there are seven points of distance against the Brazilian Henrique Martins. 15 points separate him from the leader Eddie Cheever. A “gap” that the young Italian driver will try to reduce in the next race at the Mugello circuit the 9th and the 10th of June.
