Coletti in the points for Coloni
fter Saturday’s podium Stefano Coletti and Scuderia Coloni completed the Barcelona GP2 weekend with a good points finish. The driver from Monaco was starting from P6 on the reversed grid, but he wasn’t so quick off the line and that dropped him down the order. Anyway, as proved by yesterday’s pace, Stefano had a quick car and that gave him some room to recover, even on a track like Barcelona were overtaking isn’t an easy task. On lap 2 Coletti passed Melker, and then got into a good fight with Gutierrez and Nasr. On lap 4 Stefano passed his Mexican rival with a good braking move at Turn 11, and then in the middle part of the race he just followed the pack. His next move came on lap 13, when he managed a stunning outside pass on Nasr at the first chicane, something that earned him the praise of the whole paddock. From then on Stefano just settled for position and ended the race in P8, taking another point in a very good weekend for him and the team.Fabio Onidi, meanwhile, wasn’t lucky at all. Starting from P3 on the reversed grid the Italian was hoping for a great race, but he had a slow start and by the first corner he had already dropped in P11, just behind his team-mate. He also passed Melker on lap 1, but then his race got a bit too eventful: Fabio was much quicker than Gutierrez ahead of him and on lap 11 he tried to pass him on the inside of Turn 11 under braking, but the Mexican managed to fend off the attack. Fabio was a bit slow on the exit and this gave Melker some room for trying to pass: Fabio tried to defend himself but he got on the dirt side of the track and spun, rejoining in P21. With some very good driving the Italian managed to recover some places and crossed the line in P18.
