Star Mazda standout Peter Dempsey joins Younessi Racing Indy Lights team

Younessi Racing is expanding its presence in Firestone Indy Lights adding Ireland's Peter Dempsey to the team beginning with the Freedom 100.  Dempsey, a standout during the 2008 and 2009 Star Mazda Championship seasons, will drive the team's lone entry at Indianapolis, but will be joined by team owner/driver Rodin Younessi in a two-car effort at Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix on June 2.  Click here for full story.

DALY 'BREAKS HIS DUCK' - AMERICAN STAR MAZDA CHAMPION CONOR DALY SCORES FIRST GP3 WIN  

Barcelona, Spain / May 13, 2012 -- American Conor Daly - the 2010 champion in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear -- proudly celebrated with the stars and stripes flag aloft after claiming his first win in the GP3 Series with a faultless display in Race 2 at the Circuit de Catalunya. STAR MAZDA PRODUCES A DIFFERENT KIND OF GRADUATE - ENGINEER KATE GUNDLACH SIGNS WITH IZOD INDYCAR'S HVM RACING

Pacoima, CA / May 7, 2012 - Proving yet again that the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear is one of the most effective and prolific motorsports development programs in racing today, the series is proud to announce that yet another graduate has made the big jump... directly from Star Mazda to IndyCar.

It's a different kind of graduate this time, however. Not a driver, but rather Star Mazda Quality Control Engineer Kate Gundlach, who will immediately join HMV Racing as the Data and Electronics Engineer (DAG) for Simona De Silvestro and the #78 Entergy Nuclear Clean Air Energy Lotus Dallara. MAZDA ROAD TO INDY GRADUATES TOP THE TIME SHEETS IN DAY ONE OF PRACTICE FOR THE INDY 500

Indianapolis Motor Speedway / May 12, 2012 - Big news from the first day of official practice for the upcoming Indy 500:  Mazda Road to Indy grads went 1-2-3 in practice on day one at Indy.   Josef Newgarden led, JR Hildebrand was second and Bryan Clauson was third.

Newgarden and Hildebrand led the post-practice press conference where both gave significant credit to the Mazda Road to Indy for putting them in the position that they're in today.
