Full set of stars to line-up at Donington Superstars

The SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES is ready to be back running at the historical Donington Park venue this weekend. The FG GROUP-promoted championship will be welcoming the British fans with a great show on-track and into the paddock. The series' line-up will again meet all expectations with 20 V8 saloon supercars and its trademark intense side-by-side action and another, exciting double race will be following in the same footsteps of last year's event, dominated by the Maserati of reigning SUPERSTARS champion Andrea Bertolini.

A lot of International-level champions are set to line-up in the UK starting from Vitantonio Liuzzi: while he scored an outstanding win in his debut race at Monza, he's eager to rebound after an ill-fated weekend at Imola aboard the AMG-supported CAAL Racing Mercedes C63 AMG.

"We are preparing for an intense race and definitely more eventful than in Imola. - said Liuzzi - The performance of the cars will be even more balanced this time thanks to the characteristics of the track. I hope for good weather: we're looking forward to be back into the championship's lead after the tough break suffered at Imola."

Another Formula 1 ace is set to join him on-track. Fan favorite and SUPERSTARS veteran Johnny Herbert is ready to return at his home racetrack where he had cruised to a podium finish in 2010. Herbert will be behind the wheel of a Maserati Quattroporte fielded by Swiss Team.

"I'm really excited to be back in SUPERSTARS after the good experiences I had in the last couple of years. - said Herbert - My goal is to fight for a top spot and I'm definitely looking forward to achieve great results with my Maserati Quattroporte. The car proved competitive with both Mika Salo and Christian Fittipaldi and they left a strong impression in the first couple of rounds".

The Ferlito Motors camp will rely again on Monza's Race 1 winner Max Pigoli and on their British green-colored Jaguar XFR racecars. The Como-based driver will be partnered by  Indonesian racer Ananda Mikola, who made his debut at Imola.

Audi will be lining-up fully-staffed too with the Novara-based Audi Sport Italia squad. Gianni Morbidelli is already in combat mode after his tough battle at Imola with team-mate Johan Kristoffersson. The young Swedish racer is eager to defend his championship lead after having cruised to a spectacular double win at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit. Among his toughest rivals, 2010 SUPERSTARS Champion Thomas Biagi will return behind the wheel of a BMW M3 for Team BMW Dinamic. He is currently standing in 2nd, just two points off the lead.

The show for the fans will also be great in the paddock area thanks to the Paddock Show, a perfect meeting point between them and their favorite drivers that already proved extremely successful in the first two rounds of 2012. For the fans at home, the races will be broadcasted live in 66 Countries. In England, both Race 1 and Race 2 will be televised live, respectively at 10:05 AM and 15:10 PM local time on Motors TV UK. In Italy, RAI SPORT 2 will be providing live coverage of Race 1, scheduled at 11:05 AM CET, and Race 2, starting at 16:10 CET.
