Vancraft Triumph Round 4 Snetterton Review

Motorpoint British Supersport

Jimmy Hill and Josh Caygill had a mixed weekend at round four of the Motorpoint British Supersport at a scorching hot Snetterton 300 Circuit on the Vancraft Triumphs. Jimmy made huge progress forward this weekend and gained a solid 11th place in race one and was unfortunate to crash out on debris in race two. Josh Caygill was 22nd in race one on Saturday and a gained his first Championship points of the year in race two with 12th.

Jimmy found his form this weekend at Snetterton and was putting in some strong and consistent lap times, which put him in eighth place for the first Supersport race. He was not able to get a good start and got boxed in and pushed backwards into the first couple of corners, he was 13th after the first lap. He was locked in a couple of tight battles throughout the race and managed to work his way through to 11th. He was placed in 12th on the grid for the second race. He got a better start and was battling with the second bunch of riders for seventh place; unfortunately he was caught out on debris put on the track after Luke Jones crashed out.

Jimmy Hill - "We made some huge steps forward this weekend we made a lot of changes to the Vancraft Triumph for this weekend and it helped me get my confidence back. It's been a hard season so far and battling with arm pump around my scar tissue from my crashes last year has made things difficult. We made some pretty drastic changes but it seemed to be for the better and I felt really good on the Triumph all weekend and hopefully things will keep going forward. I'm gutted to have crashed in the second race as I felt pretty strong, hopefully more things to come at Knockhill."

Josh made good progress over the weekend and was able to avoid all the carnage and madness in the second race and grab some vital Championship points as he rode the Vancraft Triumph through to 12th place.

Josh Caygill - "I felt pretty good this weekend and it's mega to be in the points in the second race. The team have been working really hard and it's good to be able to repay them with a good result. I had a couple of problems with set up but I really wanted to get my head down, the second race was full of drama and I wanted to stay well clear from it all. Thankfully I managed to avoid it all and get a good result; I would like to thank all our team sponsors who continue to help us."

Metzeler Superstock 600s

Joe Collier racing for the Vancraft Triumph team in the Metzeler Superstock 600 Championship had another solid weekend and scored some more Championship points by finishing in 13th position. The youngster rode a solid race in the very hot conditions at Snetterton and is settling in well to his first season in this Championship.

Joe Collier - "It's been another good weekend and I really like the Snetterton 300 track, I felt really comfortable on the Vancraft Triumph all weekend and the team worked hard. I set some good times and was feeling good going into the race. I got a pretty good start and I was running pretty well but half way through the race because of the heat my bike was over heating so that dropped the power, I didn't want to push too hard after that and was eager to get some more points. I'd like to thank my sponsors Simon and Steven Preistnal at Autoworld Group for making it possible for me to be here."
