Just a couple of weeks after its successful outing at Donington Park, the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES is about to hit the track at another world-renowned venue, the Mugello Circuit. In Scarperia, not too far away from Florence, the SUPERSTARS championship will line-up for round four of 2012, while the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES will be back running after Imola for its third round of the year.

SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES - A sensational field featuring Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Jaguar, Maserati and Mercedes is set provide plenty of action at Mugello by following the same successful path of a spectacular season start that featured three different winning constructors and six carmakers represented on the podiums. The tight competition between car manufacturers will be again the key for some spectacular races. The SUPERSTARS Permanent Bureau issued the first Balance Of Performance decision of the year right after Donington Park. The Audi RS5 racecars suffered from an 100-kg increase in weight and will have to be fitted with an air restrictor. In the meantime, weight adjustments also regarded Maserati (the Quattroporte will also lose its restrictor), BMW and Mercedes. Competition is already in the air at Mugello, where all the championship's greatest stars are lining-up to fight for wins. Former F.1 racer Gianni Morbidelli, the king of Donington Park thanks to the 1-2 wins scored with his Audi Sport Italia-prepared Audi RS5, will be challenged by two more Formula 1 aces like Johnny Herbert, who cruised to a podium finish at home with the Swiss Team Maserati Quattroporte, and Vitantonio Liuzzi, back for more glory after having brought the CAAL Racing Mercedes C63 AMG to victory in Race 2 at Monza.

2010 SUPERSTARS Champion Thomas Biagi is expected to become one of the major contenders at Mugello, lining-up together with team-mates Sandro Bettini and Stefano Gabellini aboard the Team BMW Dinamic M3 racecars. Championship leader Johan Kristofferson is also looking forward to two positive couple of races with his Audi RS5, and will be partnered by German youngster  Thomas Schoeffler. The Mercedes camp will welcome Indonesian Ananda Mikola, fielded by Roma Racing Team, while local racer Max Mugelli will be behind the wheel of the second CAAL Racing entry. Tuscany-based Andrea Larini (Mercedes C63 AMG – Romeo Ferraris) and Fancesco Sini (Chevrolet Lumina - Solaris Motorsport) will complete an highly-competitive field.

GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES - A Formula 1 star will also make his way to GTSPRINT: Ivan Capelli was entered by Kessel Racing with a GTS3 Ferrari 458 Italia: he will be challenged by same-powered Mario Cordoni (Team Ombra Racing), and by the RC Motorsport Corvette of the Benedetti-Del Castello duo. Francesca Linossi will also race for the first time in the series. After lining-up in SUPERSTARS in 2011, the young female racer will be partnering Simone Pellegrinelli on the Black Team Ferrari 430 GTS2. The Bergamo-based squad will also return with their Ferrari 458 and championship leader Andrea Palma. A host of strong contenders are expected to battle for the GTS Cup Trophy: Scuderia Baldini 27 Network will line-up two Ferrari 430 for Bernasconi-Casè and Bianchi-Nataloni, while Mik Corse will be fielding Colombians Steven Goldstein and Felipe Merjech on their Lamborghini Gallardo. Porsche will be represented by the Antonelli Motorsport 997 models, with Omar Galbiati and the Baccani-Veronesi combo behind the wheel. The GTS Open class will feature the BMW M3s of Piero Necchi (N Racing) and Andrea Bacci (Ar Motorsport).
