Front row for Facu Regalia in Portimao Auto GP

Campos Racing´s Argentine driver posted second fastest time on the starting grid for today´s race.

Facu Regalia had another good during his penultimate meeting in the Auto GP series.

If last weekend he managed to claim his maiden podium in the European F3 Open,  Campos Racing´s driver put his Lola B05/52 Zytek on the front row of starting grid. This result for heat one of Portuguese meeting was a huge step forward after some problems in the morning during both free practice sessions. However, Campos Racing and Regalia kept working hard and finally it came to fruition.

With a best lap of 1:32.625, he was “very happy. Surely today has been one of my best days in 2012. My car improved a lot with some set-up details changed by my team. Now my car is pretty competitive, and now I am posting times very close to Supernova´s drivers, who were leading the times so far”. Twenty years old driver added that “maybe my lap time could have been slightly improved because the session was yellow-flagged for a while and it was then when my tires were working better. Anyway it doesn´t matter because I am quite close to Adrian Quaife-Hobbs. Now everyone at Campos Racing needs to enjoy this second place, I am thankful for my team´s effort and we need to prepare correctly tomorrow´s race. I am looking forward to clinch another good result”.

Race one starts today at 13.15, and Eurosport will broadcast it live.
