Oulton Park next for Jordan and Pirtek

After a six-week spring break, Andrew Jordan and Pirtek Racing will be back in action at the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire this weekend (9/10 June) for rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.Famed for being as popular with the drivers as it is with the fans, Oulton Park is a fabulous race track with fast corners, elevation changes and blind bends to make it a real challenge. A year ago, the BTCC drew a record crowd to the track and there is every reason to expect that the venue will be bursting at the seams once again this year for the magnificent spectacle of the BTCC.After a superb opening weekend at Brands Hatch when he scored two seconds and a sixth place in his Honda Civic, followed by three top six finishes at Donington Park, Andrew had a tough weekend last time out at Thruxton when a first lap accident in the opening race wrecked his chances of a race win. However, Oulton Park is just the type of track where Andrew can get his title bid back on course as it is a venue that rewards the gifted and the brave in equal measure. He is also confident of a good showing as his Pirtek Honda Civic will be free of success ballast following the Thruxton races. “We’ll go there with no success ballast, which is really good because Oulton is probably the circuit where the extra weight hurts the most,” said Andrew. “I think we should be pretty strong at Oulton Park. I like the track with the undulations and quick corners like Druids and it should stand us in quite good stead. We need to go there and get back on track.”In the six-week break since Thruxton, Andrew and the Pirtek team have been busy re-preparing the car and doing some testing ready for two race weekends in June. “There were a lot of things we wanted to try and I think we’re only scratching the surface with this car,” he said. After qualifying on Saturday 9 June at 14.50, the first of three BTCC races will be at 12.20 on Sunday, with race two at 14.30 and race three at 17.15. All three races will be broadcast on ITV4 in a programme running from 11.30 until 16.00 and continuing from 20.00 to 22.00. Qualifying will be broadcast live at itv.com and live results from the weekend will be available at tsl-timing.com
