Woman power rocks GTSPRINT with Francesca Linossi and Erika Monforte

TOP GRAND TOURING CAR COMPETITION WELCOMES ITS 2012 QUEENS

The 2012 GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES has been highlighted by the presence of two ladies that made their debut at Mugello. Two of the best young racers of the Italian panorama, Francesca Linossi and Erika Monforte turned their first laps in the FG Group-promoted championship. Linossi lined-up aboard a Ferrari 430, while Monforte hit the track on a Porsche 997: they proved extremely competitive compared to drivers like Andrea Palma (currently leading the standings with the Black Team Ferrari 458) and former F1 man Ivan Capelli (Ferrari 458 Kessel Racing).

Francesca Linossi, born in 1992, confirmed to have all the right skills last years in SUPERSTARS, when she cruised to some great results aboard the Movisport BMW M3. This time, the young, Brescia-based female racer relied on Black Team, partnering with her fellow citizen Simone Pellegrinelli.

"I'm extremely happy to be taking part in th GTSPRINT SERIES - said Francesca - and more than that to drive a GTS2 car. I always liked racing GTs and I think this is a great dimension for me. I immediately established a great relationship with the team also thanks with the friendship between them and my father ("Linos") when I saw him racing. Despite I was forced to retire, at Mugello I fought for a top position and now I'm focused in preparing for the next round at Hungaroring. It won't be easy, but I aim for a podium finish there."

The other female racer lined-up at Mugello was Erika Monforte. Based in Pordenone, she entered with an Ebimotors-prepared Porsche 997. After the great results scored in the Abarth 500 Trophy, Erika has joined forces with brother Simone to make her debut in Tuscany.

"The one at Mugello has been a fantastic weekend. I had this great opportunity and I want to thank the Ebimotors team for their professional approach and for how serious they've been. The Porsche is really well-performing, it was the first time I was driving a 997 and I have to say it's really aggressive, well that's something we have in common. It's been great to share this experience with my brother Simone. We used to be rivals but this time we lined-up together and we're working to be back in Hungary".
