HUNGARIAN FANS SET TO CELEBRATE HOME HERO IN BUDAPEST
The SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES is about to feature a really valuable new addition at the Hungaroring, as the FG GROUP-promoted championship will be welcoming home hero Norbert Michelisz.
The Hungarian racer, born in 1984, will be lined-up under the banner of Scuderia Giudici. They will be taking full advantage of the experience of Team Owner Gianni Giudici, who will field Michelisz aboard a BMW M3 racecar.Michelisz can count a top-notch roll of honor and is considered as one of the best rising stars of the WTCC series, where he's currently standing in seventh overall and second among the "Independent" drivers. At his home racetrack, he also cruised to his maiden victory, a really popular one. In addition to that, he's also the reigning FIA World Touring Car Championship Independent’s Trophy champion.
"We are proud to have Norbert Michelisz with us - said Team Manager Gianni Giudici - The team is doing a great job in order to field a really competitive car. We're working on the weight balancing of our M3 with the goal of improving the car's performance an bring it up to its top specs. We want to rebound after the tough luck suffered at Mugello and we fully intend to fight for the top positions. The track will be the judge of that though."
"I'm excited to join the SUPERSTARS world - said Michelisz - The races are always spectacular and unpredictable thanks to the great balance between the cars entered. That pretty much explains the success of the series which is followed by a lot of fans in Europe including Hungary. At the same time, I'm proud to join a championship that features a lot of great drivers coming from Formula 1 like Tonio Liuzzi, Gianni Morbidelli, Johnny Herbert, Christian Fittipaldi and Mika Salo. It will be great fun. I thank Scuderia Giudici, as they are preparing a BMW M3 with more than 500 horsepower. Now it's up to us do our best and fight to be among the frontrunners."
The countdown has started for the next round of SUPERSTARS, set to kick-off on the next 1st of July at the Hungaroring. It will be the second time of 2012 for the powerful V8 saloon racecars of the series outside the Italian borders.
