The Friday free practices at the Silverstone circuit, the sixth round of the 2012 MotoGP™ season, have been not simple for Colin Edwards. First the rain during the first FP and then riding in dry weather conditions during the FP2 session has complicated the setup work for Edwards’s Suter – BMW bike.
In the afternoon when Edwards would have been able to take full advantage of the dry conditions of the track, his bike suffered an electronic problem changing gears that delayed the team’s work. Hoping that tomorrow the weather conditions will be stable and allow the team to continue their setup work in order to be ready for the afternoon’s qualifying session.

"We struggled this morning in the wet; I don’t know what was going on. You shift from fourth to fifth gear and the bike went …I don’t know, like it lost power. Then we thought we fixed it, went out this afternoon and same thing, both bikes exactly the same, you shift gear from fourth to fifth gear and would just lose power. Hopefully we will get everything fixed tomorrow, we have an idea with the bike setting. At least we got a couple of laps in even though it was still the same and it was doing it at every lap but I thought: "At least I got to get some information on bike setting." So we will see what tomorrow brings."

"This morning unfortunately we had the first free practice in wet conditions and while in dry conditions we found a good base for the electronics, in the wet we have to start from zero. We had to adapt the electronics system for the wet. This afternoon we had dry conditions but we had an electric problem on the bike and we tried to fix it, making it impossible for Colin to do many laps today. In the last two test in Barcelona and Aragón we found a good base, we were very confidence but the electronics are creating us some problems. We must fix all the problems we have and we hope that tomorrow we will be able to keep working in dry conditions."
