Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit in Kent hosts rounds 12, 13 and 14 of the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series this weekend, 23rd/24th June, where Double R Racing will be bidding for its strongest set of results of the season so far.Based just over an hour’s drive from the track, the Woking squad rightly considers Brands Hatch to be its ‘home’ venue and the whole team is looking forward to being back there for the second time in five weeks – having made a successful F3 Euroseries debut at the shorter Indy Circuit last month.Double R’s National Class contender Duvashen Padayachee enjoyed his best, and most competitive, weekend of the season so far at Rockingham last time out where he won two of the three races, set fastest class lap in all three encounters and closed to within 16 points of the National series lead. With his confidence the highest it’s been so far, the 22-year-old rookie from Sydney in Australia will face fresh competition at Brands Hatch in the form of experienced British F3 racer Adderly Fong who is to make his return to the championship in the National Class.“Duvashen did a fantastic job at Rockingham, he was quick in all three races and was definitely the most competitive he’s been since the start of the season”, said Double R’s Anthony ‘Boyo’ Hieatt, “If he can reproduce that level of performance at Brands GP, and be consistent with it, he’s definitely capable of taking more class wins.”Fahmi Ilyas and Geoff Uhrhane, Double R’s representatives in the International Class, are currently 11th and 12th respectively in the top-tier of the championship. So far, Kuala Lumpur-born Ilyas’ best result is sixth place from the opening race of the year but he has been very close to equaling that on several occasions. Category rookie Uhrhane has been getting quicker and more competitive with each outing at the wheel of his Dallara-Mercedes and the young Australian is beginning to edge ever closer to his more experienced team-mate’s pace. The Gold Coast driver has three top 10 finishes to his credit so far and will be hoping to claim a championship best next weekend.“The F3 Euro outing we had with Fahmi and Geoff at the Indy Circuit last month went quite well and it was certainly beneficial for them to have some extra time in the car”, said Hieatt, “Obviously, the GP track is an entirely different prospect but the experience of the European round will be helpful to them. If everything runs smoothly in qualifying, they could both have their best weekend yet.”Qualifying for rounds 12, 13 and 14 of the British F3 season will take place on Saturday, 23rd June, at 11.15 with the first race of the weekend following at 14.50. On Sunday, 24th June, round 13 will start at around 11.00 with round 14 getting underway at approximately 16.35.2012 Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series Driver Standings (after Rd11):11th Fahmi Ilyas, 24pts; 12th Geoff Uhrhane, 5pts2012 Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series ‘National Class’ Standings (after Rd11):2nd Duvashen Padayachee, 160pts
