Double podium success for Chevron Racing at Oulton Park GT Cup

and GR8 GT4 shine in the GT Cup Championship, round five

Chevron Racing claimed podium finishes across the two GT Cup Championship races at Oulton Park on Saturday (21 July), round five of the UK based series.

Driving a works Chevron GR8 GT4, Jordan Witt crossed the line in third in race one, also winning his class (Group 1). Following up on this result, David Witt secured the teams second podium of the weekend by taking the Chevron GR8 customer car of Darren Nelson, from Carnell Group, to another third placed position.

Due to difficult track conditions during Fridays test session and the Chevron GT3 being taken out by an oil spillage on the circuit; the works team made the decision not to race the GT3 at Oulton Park, making it a full GR8 line-up for Chevron at the local outfits home race in Cheshire.

Jordan Witt, one of the youngest competitors in the series and his class, commented;It was a good weekend for us battling with the other prestigious car marques for podium places, and the GR8 GT4 proved to be seriously quick in the first race.For the next round at Brands Hatch in August, I should be back in the Chevron GT3 and the Grand Prix circuit at Brands is always a fantastic track to drivethe car should perform well there, and Im really looking forward to it.

Chevron Racing Cars Ltd has developed the Chevron GT3 from the Chevron GR8, the main features being an upgraded gearbox and an engine upgrade to a 3.5 Litre V6 engine which boasts 420bhp.
