An English guy in Puerto Banus has had to watch his car go up in flames while he was stopped at a junction. The car was reported to be a 250 GTO - which is clearly a load of rollocks. It looks like a replica with a 5.7 V8 (Chevy?)
The Sun's title "Fire - ari" was quite droll - but not as good as some the reader comments - such as:
"That's not a real 250 GTO. Just look at the windscreen. It's a poor fake just like everything in Marbella."
Anyway lets not get snotty about this - a really good GTO replica based on old 250 GTE/330 etc. with a V12 is a fabulous old thing.
However a personal plate on something which resembles a GTO is not for a shy retiring violet - and as such- to go the trouble of "posing" in a V8 shonker which even from head-on looks does not look too accurate is a poor show - and does sum up some up the classy stuff going on in Puerto Banus.
Anyway commiserations to the anonymous owner for the unplanned combustion - hope he uses the insurance repair money wisely - i.e not on this car but on something which would go down well in that part of the world -i.e large medallion/sunglasses/harley/ducati etc...oops hang on - I have got a Ducati :facepalm:details on this "story" here:
