Le Mans circuits announce varied 2013 calendar

The 2013 sporting season on the Le Mans circuits will consist of fourteen meetings. The highlight of the year will be the 90th Le Mans 24 Hours, the blue-riband event of the Automobile Club de lOuest.

As usual at the end of March the motorbikes will kick off the seasons racing on the Le Mans 24-Hours circuits with the French Superbike Championship. The Inter Ecuries meeting will close a packed sporting season.

Obviously the highlight of the year will be the Le Mans 24 Hours on 22-23 June. In 2013, the Le Mans 24-Hours race will celebrate its 90th anniversary in the style it deserves with plenty of festivities linked to this red-letter event. The test day will take place on 9th June two weeks before the blue riband race of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Scrutineering will be held on 16-17 June.

After the Tour Auto pays a visit to the Le Mans circuit (23rd April) the GT Tour will be back at the Bugatti circuit at the end of April. This return will follow the championships successful debut on the track during the ACO Fte in late September 2012.

As 2013 is an uneven year LM Story, the rendezvous for historic racing cars will be back on the calendar in early July.

As in 2011, the 36th Le Mans 24 Hours for Motorbikes, still part of the FIM World Endurance Championship, will take place on 21-22 September. This rendezvous exerts a huge pull on all the fans who will flock to the Bugatti circuit en masse to enjoy the fun!

With the French Motorcycle Grand Prix on 17-19 May, the Promosport French Cups on 21-22 August and the national round of the Superbike Championship that will start the ball rolling in 2013, the Le Mans Circuit confirms its position as leader in the world of motor bike racing in France.

The 24 Hours for Karts held at the end of September 2012 as a part of the first Fte de lACO will be back at a more traditional date. The 28th event will be run at the end of August on the new kart track currently being constructed.

The Bugatti will host other competitions - without engines this time - with the 24 Hours for Rollers (end of May 2013), bicycles and the end-of-season marathon.

Finally, the prestigious installations of the Automobile Club de lOuest will host a first with the Exclusive Drive Show on 22-23 March. Over two days spectators can view a huge exhibition of exceptional motor cars in the Le Mans 24-Hours paddock including Super Cars, GTs, sports cars etc, plus all the services and luxury products linked to this sector.

In addition, the owners of these machines will have the opportunity to run on the Bugatti circuit during track sessions, while the manufacturers will also have track time on this mythic course to give potential clients the opportunity to test their cars.
