Le Mans 24hr karters raise 10,000 in challenge for Ben

A five man team representing the UK automotive industry took on and completed the annual Le Mans 24hr Kart Race at the famous Alain Prost circuit in France raising a remarkable 10,000 in sponsorship for the automotive charity, BEN.Skill and endurance are essential for over 40 Kart teams entering each year.  Delighted Team Captain Duncan Metcalfe said This event was a great way for friends from across the industry to come together in support of our industry charity, BEN.  I really need to express my thanks to Aston Barclay, Manheim, BCA, Fleet Assist and PJM Valeting for providing their unstinting support. Without them the Le Mans Challenge would never have been possible. The full team responsible for raising such an impressive amount for BEN were Duncan, Mike Smith, Alan Green, Gary Philips and Tim Hudson all of whom are long-time Karting enthusiasts. The team re-united for the cheque presentation at BENs own Karting Championship at the Rye House circuit in October.Nigel Williams, BENs Commercial Development Manager added, BEN is full of appreciation for all five Karters and their sponsors who have given their time and money to aid our charity. This is a significant sum and will help to make a real difference to some of the many thousands of people who turn to BEN for help each year.
