SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES, GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES EXTEND SUCCESSFUL 3-YEAR STINT, LOOK FORWARD TO BREAK 33.000 ATTENDANCE RECORD
The date and place for the 2013 SUPERSTARSWORLD Grand Finale are now official. The Autodromo Piero Taruffi of Vallelunga, Rome, will be hosting the closing round of the season on the the 12th and 13th of October.
Record crowds have been drawn there in a sensational three-year stint rich of competition, passion and excitement, and the 2013 "Race of Rome" aims to continue in the growth experienced so far. After a record 24.000 people filled the grandstands in 2010, 25.000 people showed up in 2011. And while an unprecedented 33.000 fans set a stunning mark last season, the aim is to improve even further.
In 2012, Giancarlo Fisichella, making his debut aboard a Maserati Quattroporte, provided the fans with a spectacular battle with top-notch rivals like Vitantonio Liuzzi, Gianni Morbidelli , Thomas Biagi and young Swede Johan Kristoffersson, who went on to grab both the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES and the ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP titles.
"Rome will be hosting an international motorsports event again in 2013 and it's a great satisfaction to have it confirmed - told Giancarlo Fisichella - In 2012 I raced with a Maserati Quattroporte and it's been exciting to see so many people at the track, a color-filled paddock and the grandstands packed with fans cheering for me. It's been a sensational experience, because Vallelunga is my home circuit and I look forward to be back this season too".
