Drivex Silverstone F3 Open review

ANOTHER TRIUMPH FOR DRIVEX AND GONDA IN THE F3 OPEN

Drivex and its driver Richard Gonda couldnt clinch the win on Saturday, when another driver hit the young Slovakian  ace at the beginning, then on Sunday they had no rivals In addition, Gonda also took both pole positions and fastest laps in Copa class.

Before race two, Gonda was unbeatable at the wheel of his Drivex Dallara F308 in the qualifying session. He was the pole sitter in the Copa with a lap of 1:56.936, when no other F308 car was able to go under 1:57 mark, and started on the seventh row of the grid. But his speed would be good enough to fight for top-ten overall, as he showed later.

With more than thirty cars on the grid, Gondas tactic was avoid risks at the beginning and increase his race pace lap by lap. Although Cameron Twynham, his main rival for the title so far, could challenge him on the opening lap, Gonda kept calm. With a better race pace Slovakian driver pulled away from Twynham and overtook  some Dallara F312 cars to finish 10th overall and first in the Copa.

After this weekend in Great Britain, there are six races left at Spa-Francorchamps, Monza and Barcelona, after the summer break in August. Gonda and Drivex are first in the overall classification of Copa scoring sixty-four points. The title, now a realistic target, is a bit nearer.

Richard Gonda: It was nearly perfect weekend for us at SilverstoneEven if we were dominating all the time, just in first race the contact with another driver destroyed my chances to win. It was a bit disappointing that I lost the leading position in the race almost in the same way as happened at Jerez. Anyway, our strong point is that we still had the speed for Sunday. In second qualifying session, I was pushing very hard to show that we deserved to be first. In second race I was trying to avoid any collision and after overtaking some new Dallara cars, I won. My team, Drivex, did a brilliant job again this weekend, they deserve my thanks!.
