Montermini, Salaquarda to open their Blancpain Endurance Series at Nogaro

Scuderia Villorba Corse, with the sole 458 of the championship, is ready for the first Blancpain Endurance challenge to be held at Nogaro over the Easter weekend. The Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio is ready to get back on track with its Ferrari 458 GT3 for this big challenge.

Only a few days after the stunning Pro-Am podium in the Blancpain Endurance Series with Castellacci/Gai/Rizzoli at Monza, Nogaro will mark the debut of a brand new Villorba crew. Italian Andrea Montermini, GT champion in several series and former F1 driver, will share the Ferrari 458 of the Blancpain Sprint Series with the 30 years old Czech driver Filip Salaquarda, who has been in the championship for two years. The pair is a very talented mix of driving skills and experience.

“After the positive endurance race at Monza - says Amadio, Team Principal -, our season gets on with another crucial debut in this very demanding round of the Blancpain Sprint Series, a format which is quite similar to the ones we took part in recent years. We can line up a very well balanced and motivated pair of drivers. So in France we want to do very well right from the start. The whole squad knows that BSS is a very challenging commitment but also that it is the opportunity to compete at very high levels with super competitive contenders. We are ready to fight.”

In the Easter weekend at Nogaro, Villorba Corse will get on track on Friday and Saturday for free practice and qualifying sessions, while the qualifying race will take place at 14:15 (12:15 GMT) on Sunday, April 20 and the main race at same time on Monday, April 21. BSS weekend at Nogaro will be broadcasted (live, deferred and highlights) worldwide on many TV channels and on www.blancpain-gt-series.com (clicking on GT TV).
