Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship

Round 3: Forrest Estate, 7-8 June

Mike Moran won round three by just one second after an extremely close weekend of competition.

Andrew West set the pace early on but was forced out on run four with mechanical problems. Ryan Cooke took the lead, closely pursued by Martin Cox. By the end of the nine runs on a very wet day one, Cooke led by 48 seconds.

By the third run of day two Cox had moved into a two-second lead but a puncture on the fourth run handed the lead back to Cooke. However, as well as suffering a puncture himself, Cooke had also damaged his exhaust and was forced to back off on the final run. This should have allowed Cox to take the win but a broken throttle cable handed Moran a narrow victory.
