FIVE Danes race in Copenhagen as Michael Jepsen Jensen joins Danish SGP line-up

MJJ MAKES IT FIVE DANES AT PARKEN

Danish fans have FIVE home riders to support in Copenhagen after Michael Jepsen Jensen was confirmed as Chris Holder’s replacement in the Danish FIM Speedway Grand Prix at PARKEN on Saturday.

The Australian champion has withdrawn from the event after undergoing surgery on the broken wrist he suffered while riding in his Danish club Region Varde’s home meeting against Holstebro on Friday.

His misfortune hands Jepsen Jensen – who qualified as first reserve for this year’s SGP series – a golden opportunity to prove his class once again on Danish speedway’s biggest stage.

MJJ cemented his reputation as one of the sport’s brightest young talents in a breathtaking 2012 season, which saw him win the Nordic SGP at Vojens, help Denmark claim Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup gold and lift the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship.

He has been battling to reach those lofty heights since, and what better place to do it than under the bright lights of PARKEN?

Jepsen Jensen joins triple world champ Nicki Pedersen, Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kenneth Bjerre and wild card Peter Kildemand in flying the home flag on Saturday.
