Pro-Am podium and leadership for Villorba Corse at Le Castellet

In the third round of the Blancpain Endurance Series Castellacci / Gai / Rizzoli reach the top of the standings after a thrilling second place behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458

Scuderia Villorba Corse took the Pro-Am Cup leadership in the standings of the Blancpain Endurance Series with Francesco Castellacci, Stefano Gai and Andrea Rizzoli on Ferrari 458, the first supercar from Maranello at the checkered flag after three hours of hard-fought race at Le Castellet. The talented Villorba crew took an impressive second place (eighth overall) in the Pro-Am category in the third round of the international championship organized by SRO, held on Saturday from late evening until night. The stunning French weekend of the Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio was completed by another podium in the Gentlemen Trophy, where French Cedric Mezard and Francois Perrodo took third place behind the wheel of the second Villorba Ferrari 458.

“It was an amazing weekend - says Amadio, Team Principal -; the team was perfect and our work were very competitive in each session and in the race. Our drivers' three stints were optimal and, looking at the Total 24 Hours of Spa, also it is important to have raced with the sunset and at night. We are the first Ferrari on the finish line at Le Castellet and that makes us even more confident for the rest of the season. We clinched some valuable points for the Blancpain Endurance Series and we are very happy for this double podium.”
