After claiming the pole, the Norwegian driver led from start-to-finish to triumph ahead of wild-card, Charles Leclerc (Fortec Motorsports) and Ignazio D’Agosto (Koiranen GP). With the win, Dennis Olsen is now 30 points adrift of Nyck de Vries (Koiranen GP), who finished fourth today. In rainy conditions, Dennis Olsen took his first pole position in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. The Norwegian shared the front row with Nick Cassidy (Koiranen GP). Charles Leclerc was third quickest, ahead of the Koiranen GP entries of Ignazio D’Agosto and Nyck de Vries.

Despite the attacks of his rivals, Dennis Olsen conserved his pole position advantage at the start. Egor Orudzhev (Tech 1 Racing) and Louis Deletraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) overtook Jack Aitken (Fortec Motorsports) on an opening lap that also saw the races of Callan O’Keeffe (ART Junior Team) and Bruno Bonifacio (Prema Powerteam) come to a premature end.

When the safety car was called out, light rain began to fall over the circuit. At the re-start, Nick Cassidy and Egor Orudzhev missed their braking points and both lost three positions. The incident also involved the Josef Kaufmann Racing entries of Kevin Jörg and Ryan Tveter, which resulted in the safety car being deployed again.

During the final laps, Dennis Olsen pulled away from the field to go on for his second win of the season. Charles Leclerc fended off the attacks coming from the three Koiranen entries for his maiden Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 podium result ahead of Ignazio D’Agosto, Nyck de Vries and Nick Cassidy. Jack Aitken recuperated sixth place ahead of wild-card Louis Délétraz. Martin Rump (Fortec Motorsports), Egor Orudzhev and Andrea Pizzitola (Manor MP Motorsport) rounded out the top ten. Aurélien Panis (ART Junior Team) and Gustav Malja (Josef Kaufmann Racing) completed the list of point scorers.

Dennis Olsen: “It was a very difficult race, especially when it began to rain during the first safety car period. Charles and Ignazio pushed hard and we nearly touched. I was able to pick up the pace on the second re-start and do my job thanks to the efforts of the whole team. I am very happy about this victory!”

Charles Leclerc: “I am very happy to finish on the podium. The level of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 is very high and I am still in my first year of single-seaters. I struggled a bit on the second re-start, but I am still satisfied with this second place finish.”

Ignazio D’Agosto: “I battled a lot with my team mates and in the end, I am pleased to be on the podium. I was fast after the first safety car period and I tried to overtake. Then, we were very close, but it wasn’t easy! I hope to continue like this and finish the season with this pace.”
