Storming fourth place for Feraud in MML Sports Lancer WRC

French rally driver Cyrille Feraud took his best result in the French Gravel Rally Championship this weekend at the wheel of his MML Sports Mitsubishi Lancer WRC, claiming fourth place overall amid a huge entry of World Rally Cars. Feraud, who finished fifth on his second event in the Lancer, set a string of top four stage times over the two day event to take his best result this year.

Feraud's first outing resulted in an accident and while his second was a much more successful affair, the weather meant it was a case of survival rather than enjoyment. His third, however, this weekend, was better and he set out with a sixth-fastest stage time before ending the first day of competition, which featured six timed tests, with a third-fastest time to go into the overnight halt in fourth place overall, just 30s adrift of third and his first podium.

Come Sunday morning, he began where he left off, with another third-fastest stage time before backing-off to safeguard his fourth place. He did, however, pop in another third-fastest time - to make a hat trick - on the last stage of the event to confirm his pace.

By the end of the event, he was fourth, behind a Ford Fiesta WRC and a pair of Citroen C4 WRCs and 1m30s off the podium of the event. However, he was also in front of two more WRCars, including a current specification Citroen DS3 WRC and a Xsara WRC.

Commenting, MML Sports Managing Director John Easton said; "This was a very good result for Cyrille. It shows that he is definitely getting to grips with the Lancer WRC and understanding how to drive it. A trio of top-three stage times is a superb result in only his third event in the car and even more encouraging when you look at the competition on this event.

"I think at this rate, it won't be long before we see him on the podium of a rally in France and potentially, challenging for the top step is not out of the question. I'm delighted that he is starting to show his potential in the Lancer and it would appear it is a combination that works very well."
