Bonhams Maranello Rosso Collection Auction - review of prices reached for first lot of 10 cars

Ok - GTO was maybe a bit underwhelming - due to the massive hype surrounding the car - and the 250 MM was a good buy? - but the rest of the prices were not too bad - the racecar's sold well too - some I believe to a UK dealer.

So not quite the price correction that the perhaps over-hyped 250 GTO deal and the immediately following cheapish 250mm suggested?

1962 250 GTO Berlinetta – 3851 GT – $38,115,000 - below Joe Public expectation?

1953 250 MM Berlinetta – 0312 MM – estimate $9m - $12m - Sold for $7,260,000 - great deal? or was estimate unrealistic?

1958 250 GT Series 1 PF Cabriolet – 0759 GT – estimate $6.5m - $8.5m - Sold for $6,820,000

1981 512 BBLM – 35529 – estimate $1.2m-1.6m - sold for $990,000 - Seems good value

1978 312 T3 Formula 1 – 033 – estimate $1.5 - $2m Sold for $2,310,000 - good price - finite market

1968 Dino 166/246T Formula 2/Tasman single-seater – 0008 – estimate - $1.2m - $1.8m - Sold for $1,210,000 - fabulous car - finite market

1968 365 GTC Coupe – 12655 – estimate $750k - Sold for $858,000 - good price
