Nascar's Greg Biffle nets Ortho sponsorship

Nascar’s Greg Biffle has signed with Ortho Insect Control for roughly one-half of next year’s Sprint Cup Series.

The 2002 Nationwide Series champion will carry Ortho sponsorship on his number 16 Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) Ford at three Sprint Cup races this year, beginning with this weekend’s event in Atlanta.

The brand, which is owned by the Scotts Company, will then serve as his primary sponsor for half of Biffle’s Sprint Cup races in 2015.

The announcement was made on Friday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, ahead of the Irwin Tools Night Race on Saturday in which Biffle finished a disappointing tenth.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed but based on comparable deals in Nascar, it could be worth an eight-figure sum.

"I've been very lucky throughout my career to be aligned with great companies and I'm really excited to be going forward with Ortho on the car and to see some of the fun things we're going to be doing together in promoting the brand," said Biffle.

The Scotts Company previously sponsored RFR driver Carl Edwards for select events in 2005, 2010 and 2011. Thus, it is no stranger to the racing industry.

Mike Sutterer, vice president Ortho, regional marketing said, "When this opportunity presented itself, we started talking with Roush Fenway; we have the relationship with them. It's just the perfect fit for the Ortho brand, for what we're looking to do with the brand. The consumer bases line up, the geography lines up, just a really, really great fit."
