Nyck de Vries makes it a double top in Mugello Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS

It could not have a better ending the Mugello weekend for Nyck de Vries. After having been crowded as the 2014 Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS champion thanks to Race 1 win, the Koiranen GP driver took the double leading the pack from lights to flag.

With eight 2014 wins for the “Flying Dutchman”, he was simply unreachable on the up and down hill Italian track, his closest rival being Charles Leclerc (Fortec Motorsports).

It was also a positive weekend for the young JD Motorsport driver Matevos Isaakyan, who for the seventh time this year climed the podium and lies third in the Championship.

The fight for second overall will be decided in the last round with Leclerc with a 19 points lead over the Russian - with 50 more points to be awarded in Jerez the first weekend of October.

Bruno Bonifacio, racing as a wild card with Prema, managed fourth ahead of his team mate Dennis Olsen.
